SEO Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION: Posted on 4/25/2005 8:56:44 PM
When writing content for my web pages how often should I stick the keywords in? Some people say you need keywords all over the page, isn't that going to look dumb?

Can't I just add the keywords into the keyword tag?

Because the search engines give preference to "themed" pages, it's best to only include "keyword phrases" that best relate to the "theme" or topic of your page. There is no real quantifiable number of how many times to include exact repetitions of your keyword phrase in the text. A better rule of thumb is to write with a natural flow using variations on the keyword phrase with a healthy mix of "stem" words (words that are directly related to your keyword phrase).
